The best equipment does not replace judgment or effort. It removes unnecessary friction, preserves attention, and multiplies what capable people can accomplish.
The problem we found at home
The heat pump stops on the night the kids are sick. Work is calling. The manual is buried in a drawer—or written as though you already repair HVAC systems for a living. Then comes the sinking thought: was there a small piece of maintenance we were supposed to remember?
That is not a discipline failure. Homeowners are handed disconnected manuals, maintenance schedules, receipts, model numbers, and institutional knowledge with no system to connect them. Small tasks disappear into full lives, then return as stress, expense, and panic.
The equipment we built
Castellan investigates the exact items in a home, researches the evidence, creates personalized maintenance plans, and remembers what comes next. Every AI-assisted result stays editable, so the homeowner remains in control.
This is not a concept page for a product we may build someday. The iPhone and iPad app is release-ready. We built it for our own homes because we could not find the serious home-maintenance tool we needed. Now we want to share it with people who take ownership.
