Castellan Privacy Policy

Effective July 20, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how Sweat Tech Ventures LLC (“Sweat Tech Ventures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use Castellan, including the Castellan iOS application, websites, and related services. Castellan is currently offered to users in the United States.

Information we collect

Account and home information. We collect information you provide through Sign in with Apple or your Castellan account, such as your account identifier, name or email address when Apple makes it available, and your home address, including street address, city, state, postal code, and country.

Home maintenance content. We collect the home item descriptions, photos, files, labels, receipts, manuals, maintenance schedules, completed-care history, reminders, and other information you choose to save or submit.

Subscriptions. We receive subscription product identifiers, original transaction identifiers, entitlement and renewal status, purchase environment, and related verification information from Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Feedback and connected features. We collect support messages, product feedback, feature votes, and limited calendar-feed subscription information when you use those features. A calendar feed uses a private URL that can be revoked or regenerated from Castellan.

Diagnostics. We collect limited app version, build, operating environment, request identifiers, and sanitized crash, performance, or error information needed to operate and improve reliability. We design diagnostics not to intentionally include home addresses, photos, uploaded files, maintenance notes, AI prompts, authentication secrets, or payment-card details.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; provide subscription access; organize home records; generate requested maintenance guidance; process photos, files, and other intake; deliver reminders and calendar feeds; provide support; improve reliability; prevent fraud or misuse; enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations.

AI processing

When you request AI-assisted analysis, Castellan may send the text, photos, files, or other evidence you selected to an AI service provider to identify a home item and generate maintenance suggestions. We limit this processing to information reasonably needed for the requested feature. AI-generated guidance may be inaccurate and should be independently verified as explained in our Terms of Service.

How we disclose information

We disclose information to service providers that help operate Castellan, including Apple for authentication and subscription management, Supabase for authentication and database or storage infrastructure, Vercel for application hosting, OpenAI for requested AI processing, and Sentry for sanitized diagnostics. We require service providers to protect personal information consistently with this policy and applicable law and permit them to process it only for authorized services.

If you enable a calendar feed, the calendar provider you select may retrieve limited maintenance event details through your private feed URL. We may also disclose information when required by law; to respond to lawful requests; to protect users, Castellan, or our rights; or in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

No sale, advertising, or cross-app tracking

We do not sell personal information. Castellan does not use personal information for third-party advertising and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.

Data security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain account and home information while your account is active and as needed to provide Castellan. When you delete your account, we delete your account and associated owner-scoped home data, including home addresses, protected-item content, photos, care records, notifications, calendar feeds, and feedback participation, except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement. Subscription and transaction records may be retained as required for billing verification, tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Residual copies may remain temporarily in restricted backups and logs until overwritten through normal retention cycles. We may retain information that has been aggregated or de-identified so it can no longer reasonably identify you.

Your privacy choices

You may access or update profile information in Castellan. You may revoke or regenerate a private calendar feed from Profile. Camera, photo-library, and notification permissions can be changed in iOS Settings, although disabling a permission may limit the related feature.

You may delete your Castellan account within the app from profile setup, the subscription screen, or Profile.

Apple subscriptions and account deletion

Deleting your Castellan account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Apple manages subscription billing and cancellation separately. Before deleting your account, you should cancel any active subscription through your Apple Account settings. You may still delete your Castellan account immediately if you choose not to cancel first.

Children

Castellan is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to Castellan, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.

Your requests

You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information reasonably associated with your account, or to ask a privacy question. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
